Ron, my dear aunt Rebecca taught me the Charleston at a very early age, six or seven as best I recall and she would dance with me and laugh loudly with joy overt he little lad who could dance the Charleston. With my aging body and physical challenges I dare not attempt it, but my recollections of dancing the Charleston with her are among my best recollections. I taught my wife that dance. While I do recall the jitterbug and dancing to swing music in the late 1980s, the writer must be ancient (;-)) to be writing about dancing the Charleston, circa 1920s.
But then, this could be a historic piece that I didn't catch the drift of.
