the sky was rich sapphire blue
occasional wisps of white
could not knit a single cloud
sun was hot the west wind bold
we were roses between earth and sky
touching nature’s face from the summit
where life struggles with the raw elements
flora bends to conform to the rigors
we held hands viewing green valleys
bleached rocks support for our perch
your smile spoke of the peace you knew
it is always so when we are together
special moments invade our hearts
we lust for the ambiance of bold romance
when destiny speaks we are united
nothing shall erase footprints we leave in love

There is something about the magic of nature that cements love like your poem does. A wonderful juxtaposition. Reminds me of the many times I wished I had a companion when I experienced many natural highs.
So often on peaks, I have found the sun to be bright and the wind, bitter cold.
She never felt safe at home as a young girl, and didn't understand why when she finally escaped she wasn't safe in the big wide world either ...effectively jumping out of the frying pan into the fire!
