Love, powerful, compelling, without peer in human relationships.
When the sun takes leave of the western sky
Shadows of need occupy the halls of my soul
Thoughts of you that satiated my daylight
Are washed away with the moon’s rise
My arms are empty you are not here
For me to surround with my embrace
It is now that my heart and mind are one
In the deepest agony I’ve ever known
It is not want that taunts my spirit
It is need, need of the love you give me
Love that has totally captured my being
Living apart from the woman that embodies it
Agony and dejection are words, semantics
What you are to me, mean to me, transcends them
Only my heart, my soul know the love moving me
Emotions knit the threads of your love with my need
When circumstance and distance are the barriers
Constant tedium is the dance of two left feet
I crawl emotionally to where you are
On the pedestal where my love seated you
Only to arrive too late
You have moved on to another place
I must again pursue for a great distance
My spirit rises to the need of your love
Again I will trek through the obstacles
The gauntlets to where you are for the moment
As I catch my breath and rest, you move again
The cycle of my need begins anew
The sun takes refuge below the western sky
Shadows of need occupy the halls of my soul
Days and days as the need for your love amass
Send me a sign that you need me to catch you
This is the kind of poetry to which I can completely relate; it is as though I have lived (I live) what you have expressed, Jon. Thank you for sharing. Love and peace to you,
It was almost tiring reading your pursuit. Perhaps if you relax and became content being alone she would begin to see value in you and come back. This great need you have for her is probably what is keeping her away. Love should not be this hard. It should be spontaneous and freely given to one another without pleading or rancor.
Interesting...Good to see you again.
This reminds me of the way a child chases a butterfly.
The beauty and wonder of it keeps drawing you as a moth to the flame. However the butterfly is always just a bit ahead of its pursuer.
Maybe you should try a net :-)
Something echoing in my mind to the tune of, "If you love something, set it free. If it comes back, it's yours. If it doesn't, it never really was." I'll pray for your happiness.
WHEN 'LOVE' CALLS...'LOVE' WILL ANSWER. ONE CAN ONLY WAIT FOR A 'SIGN' AND ACCEPT WHATEVER IT...SAYS. FROM THE HEART OF A MAN...WELL DONE, JON, AND THANKS FOR SHARING. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS
