I have seen hollow eyes

That have seen more than mine

Those same grey eyes have weathered

Their fair share of time

I was compelled to look into them

That took all my strenght

There was life in those eyes

Iam not sure where it went

I held his trembling hand

It felt as cold as ice

Those eyes kept on saying

Now take my advice my advice

His eyes scanned my past

My present, my future

Iam a happy man

Now that I know you

It was a strange thing to say

For we were far from strangers

I queried him on this point

Boy, life is full of changes

Take me for example

For Iam not who Iam

Yet Iam me in the flesh

But no longer a man

Still I was lost

He could sense this too

Boy, it will be alright

There is a need for you

Those eyes grew dimmer

His face cracked a smile

I pondered his words

And cried for a while

There is need for us all

We must take our chances

To fufil our dreams

And to make our stances

His grip got tighter

His eyes opened wide

I saw peace in those eyes

The moment he died
