When You Make Your Dreams Come True

When my boss decided to leave Coors, I wrote her this poem. She is a dear friend but we had some good laughs and her stickie notes were one.

When You Make Your Dreams Come True

When time goes by slowly, days seem to go in trends,

Life's standing still and nothing ever ends.

Days go on and on, you're just appearing to exist,

Finding you're just a number on somebody's list.

It's time for a change, a new way of thinking.

No need to get depressed or start any serious drinking.

You have numerous options, many great things ahead.

So get off that duff, get out the lead.

Go snatch your dreams, follow your star,

Discover your happiness, find who you are.

You're potential is great, your future looks bright,

Don't look back, go into the light.

We certainly will miss you; the place won't be the same,

Not seeing your smiles or hearing you scream our names.

We'd never hold you back, we wish you the very best,

We want you to be happy; God will take care of the rest.

No more little stickies, pasted on our desk,

Which gives us such a fright, makes us nervous wrecks.

"Please see me", is all those stickies say.

How can one little sticky ruin our whole day?

The many memories we have shared, will always be in mind.

You will never be forgotten, friends are hard to find.

Think of us when you need a comrade, someone who'll be there,

Even if it's just to listen, or to lend a friendly ear.

You're doing what everyone dreams of, beginning a new life.

Everyone is envious, 'cause we've all had so much strife.

You're not going into this alone, we are in it too.

When you make your dreams come true , we too will be renewed.
