The Hand of Friendship
What do you do when the hand you offered in friendship was bitten off?
Do you take it on the chin like a boxer and do you just simply scoff?
Sure it hurts a little but no one said putting yourself out there is easy.
Sometimes it causes great harm to you, and you feel sick and queasy.
But when you offered that hand of friendship, you offered all of you.
So you lost a perfectly good hand and maybe damaged your pride too.
Your feelings may be a little wounded but you’ve been hurt before.
You’ve got to keep the connections opened, don’t shut that door.
So offer that hand again my friend, but this time wear a glove.
Show them you know how to care & prove you know how to love.
