The devious mind of a six years old
imaginative with his stories that are told.
Looks of innocence betrayed by silly lies,
dimpled smiles with big brown eyes.
Laughter that ripples as he looses control
knowing the little lie that he just told.
No shame does he feel when he is caught
for he believes that he has not been taught.
The gleam in his eyes sparkle with light
as he hugs me in a grip so tight.
Its that precious moment my heart skips a beat,
as I watch him run off with his tiny little feet.
The sound of laughter rings loudly in my ears
from the delight of this child who brings me to tears.
When he whispers, "I love you" it melts my heart,
the bond of this mother and child will never part.
I watch him sleep with his rosy cheeks
snuggled into bed between linen sheets.
Knowingly that he is my pride and my joy,
I smile at the sight of this precious little boy.
