You weren't a Cassanova
but I fell for you anyway.
You chased away the darkness
and brought closure to each day.

But you quickly showed your colors
and retold each lover's face.
You created a new reality...
Such a haunted place...

You expected my heart to stay in tact
when you recalled yesterdays gone.
But the little girl inside of me
would rather have been alone.

When I finally blew up, I expected
you to pull me out of this place.
You left me in the darkness...
my own ghost frightening this face.

There was no one who I could lean on,
only arguments of different kinds.
I couldn't stand the "I told you so's"
and all of those "were you blind's"

Death seemed so inviting...
to rejoin my ghost in that distant plain.
But I couldn't stand the thought
of forever feeling this same pain.

You claim that I'm a monster -
Woe the tears that I do shed.
I was just this heartless thing
to fill a shadow in your bed.

Though we've each have moved on now,
our scars are still easy to retrace
because there's still a part of me
trapped in your haunted place.

There's nothing here to help me
and time is not a cure.
Although I'm not yet in Hell...
On this Earthly plain, I burn.
