I just wrote this poem this evening (10-18-2005) in six (6) minutes. I've not revised it nor altered it in anyway. This is how it flowed from me, and that is how I shall keep it.
There’s emptiness and then there’s loneliness... There’s heartache and then there’s just pain... There’s a fairytale life and then there’s horror... But when you’re me...they’re all the same.
I’ve searched so hard to find that one who could share these thoughts with me. Someone not afraid of chance... Someone who’d love who I love to be.
Sitting at this old computer, wondering who’s out there. Who might I find searching for me as well through text and falling for me naively and blind.
Am I words somewhere out there inked by a heart too shy to admit that there’s a place in their heart for me just sized to fit?
Does someone read my words and transcend into my private world? Is there one man out there who enjoys this poetic girl?
Sometimes, I feel too deeply and then I find myself suddenly fall into a darkness of a great black hole and that fate, I so appall.
I’m blind sometimes - why is it so? Why do I still believe in love so true ? Silly girl...stupid girl... Listen... No one had ever loved you.
Now I’m typing poetry, nodding to sleep... Eyelids hanging heavy and fingers slowing. Thoughts pouring from my mind’s heart and for you...all my anguish is showing.
What I wouldn’t give to feel welcome and to feel safe in someone’s arms. What I wouldn’t give to feel loved and know that I’ll never sunder to harm.
What sweet ramblings from a romantic poet... I dream and dream of better romance by the score. What I wouldn’t give to be someone’s light other than just a ghost upon their dark floor.
Oh Lori, I am sure there is not just one but many who would jump at the chance to love and be loved by you. Your heart is big, your soul pure and mind lingers near genius. I have only seen your face but it is a face made to love and I am sure it is just a matter of time before your prince comes along not to sweep you off your feet but to hold your hand and walk side by side as your egual through this world of magic.
This collection of poetry addresses the nature of time, reflections on the natural world, the difficulty of loss,
contemporary social issues and gratitude for life.
