Poem Artwork

I close my eyes remembering better times
of picnics on the carpet
legs encircling each other
and we'd play peek-a-boo
head-to-toe
me and you
....and the music played
...and the children came
...and the snow fell
..and roasted chestnut smells
I wear the smile of a child
my heart just open up
making the outside air ...not
being the only thing that gives me chills
our eyes meet and yes
"I see what your saying"
cause the music is playing
and the children is dancing
and the snow is falling
and it is your name I'm calling
see with life...it is ever changing
now I'm not mad at you...for the staining
has made such a wonderful home
know longer am I alone
our music stopped long ago
our children we treasure....and on their way
of making children of their own...to embaress
don't to much care bout the snow in the air
or the Christmassy affairs
I'm content with frozen left over Thanksgiving dinner
and a cold bottle of beer
playing toe-sox footies
with my new friend
off for entire week plus weekend
and me
rolling over thinking

It's the most wonderful time of the year

*see we had it all together
and we did it all together
so now since the bitterness is gone
and the eagerness have fallen off
I can close my eyes and remember
me singing "Santa Baby" and you doing
your Nat King Cole version of.....Chestnuts
roasting on an open fire....you nibbling at my toes saying it was
Jack Frost and me laughing saying
"Baby you at the wrong end"
and God the children
running around and around that Christmas tree jumpimg and falling off their feet
and popcorn be everywhere
and at night
the music would be playing
and we'd be making mo babies
and snowflakes would cover the ground
and we collide in soulful sounds
Yes i would breath this is the most wonderful time of the year
