Poem Artwork

Thou shalt not be in fear
Tears weld up
Spring fourth
And colures fall off edges of sky
All around me
“I am married to thy throne”
words dance in
my hands
and I edge them in stone
for me and my king I brave the sword
my womanhood
isn’t in question at all
my words
like the ashes will
disburse into the clouds
and rain down
on all your houses
I am in no ways tired
Rifle in hand
Cross trek the land
To bright stars
And I no dem coming
Sky case gold cross my eyes
And deep soil for me
To lay
No line separate wetness
Close to my waist
I flow spirits who
Say, “It is not my shame!”
And I let it rang loud
With pain
And anger
And hurt
And color like the color
They tried to spit it in
Falling of their lips
Dry~~~~~~~~~

Accusers call out heretic
As I past
Like the tress who eyes watches God
I imitate the leaves
bloom
And die a new death
Manifest
In each season
For there are causes
Some branding won’t easily go way
Duality is in everything
love and hate
Prayers rise like dresses under wind
And dirt roads
“Forgive them father for they know not what they do”
see she gave birth to hunter’s moon
full and wide clear and bright
monster’s ball process
can’t you hear em’ hyenas
howl as coyote and wolves
sense the fouls
stone gray
dark grey
cold Grey after nine days grey
and I sang da blues
over cords acoustic
mama say, “put dat der flower in yo hair child
and smile dem barrels gone
dey likes to see them whites come from out dis here
black skin”
horn blow and drown the howls
cheeks grow, feet tap
hooping and hollering out back
fingers dangling and tangling
as spirits fly, whipping up winds inside
leaving em feeling in da morning quite
dry

in the new day….we may be able to smell
the roses
but we’ll never forget the shit that growed em
zip-pa-de-do-di
zip-pa-de-da
my-oh-my
what a wonderful day
plenty of sunshine heading my way
zip-pa-de-do-di
zip-pa-de-da

Even when you are dealing with the most bone-crushing of subjects, your writes are never "Dry" and there is an eternal truth and an eternal spring that bubbles forth in spite of the epitomised hardship and pain: like poppies strew the killing fields. You wring every last drop of emotion from your subjects, Mitzi, and your flavour is fullsome. Like Anna Marie, I especially liked the line: "Prayers rise like dresses under wind And dirt roads". Duality is certainly in everything, like you say: even the most ugly of life's circumstances and situations. TY for this well-crafted piece. LOL Kate xx

Sad that so many waste time on being pathetic.

Great forthright poem.
Love the way you hit, without some even realising that you have given them a knock out blow..
