by Walter Wink

“tread light…..
(As super nova zoom by)
join in flight, who told you heavens in the sky?
twist your wrist and watch the waters fly
their wealth isn’t your, shaint partake from a piece of their pie”

words falls upon my lips
full like a Nubian queen
giving birth
thus sights unseen
by the human eye
richness is already inside of me
see i am naked by nature
i roam the halls where seen
‘a sleep of Prisoners dream
not knowing the Godliness acquired
behind stone walls
for there’s ‘no bars to Manhood
only freedom
often times I must keep in mind
Matt. 5:38-42
Often times my mind becomes blind
(shit) dirty
cause crazy bald heads get rowdy
behind red tape drawn lines
that want the world to believe…. “it’s a dog eat dog world nigga”
“assuming the name of Peacemaker while empting pockets for war”
i fall upon dirt floors
Isaiah 41:29
have you felt them?
swirl my wrist for the price of peace is deep
and my education comes from the backs
Of those who just didn’t know
no better
so my facts aren’t facts…..just a matter of
butt-cheeks flappin
(so why ain’t they laughin’?)

(‘blow ill winds blow away, skies are all so grey round my neighborhood
blow ill winds blow away let me rest today; your blowing means no good
and that’s no~~~oh good)

my wails (as you say) drop off anguish
in soil rich as night
growin’ strength are you worried?

my wails (as you say) sprout roots
Of imaginations
of truth are you worried?

my wails (as you say) break chains
Offering celebration of those
millions upon souls that told are you worried?

my wails (as you say) are light
not for you Behold the Underlying Truth
if your soul protests, should I sense you’re worried?

A-ya A~~~~~~~~~~~!!!!!
my soul sang………cause i know Peace
true Peace “is at least as liable to bring
disgrace and prison and death in its wake”………….

So i tread light
Cause that’s how my spirit
Told me to roll………….

*You have heard that it was said, "an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth". But I say to you, do not resist an evildoer. But if anyone strikes you on the right cheek, turn the other also; and if anyone wants to sue you and take your coat, give your cloak as well; and if anyone forces you to go one mile, go also the second mile. Give to everyone who begs from you, and do not refuse anyone who wants to borrow from you.
Matt. 5:38-42

*No, they are all a delusion;
their works are nothing;
their images are empty wind.
Isaiah 41:29

You may "tread lightly" but there is no denying the power behind your words, Mitzi. Thank you. Love and peace. Regis

Deep and well written poem. I respect its sentiment, even though I'm more of a stomper. ;-)

This has great rhythm, I can see it as performance art, it just slides into each line with a beat, and the intensity of the words make it very powerful. Good job!

My soul sang because I know peace,
Not peace that emanate from the outside,
but from within.
Thank you for this write. I am blessed by it.

You have a waty of "treading lightly" as you punch us in the nose, Mitzi. The Ghandi-like passiveness of this poem is juxtaposed with seething rage and a feeling of helplessness of things done wrong in the past. So, I read this "i tread lightly" in a much different light than will a lot of readers, I imagine. I concur with your seething rage. I know that it can, and is, beneficial to the well-being of your soul. Very good stuff.

Absolutely!

So i tread light
Cause that’s how my spirit
Told me to roll………….

There has never been any words ever spoken more powerful than those.

Great work Mitzi!
