(so not about sex i know how you can mistake it)
*it's funny how i get caught-up in sounds
how i get caught-up in the color black
how i dream of the most wonderful itimacy
that be so real.....you don't even know me

Poem Artwork

You speak
and I hang onto your every word
I climb into you
and dream
Of your skin and how
It smells dripping in sweat
And you
You rarely notice me
You come around
You walk into my space
And shine like the sun
And speak and
I dream
Of how rain clouds gather
Before
Like we do
Us women
Before
Broken hearted I wish
On stars
Lay my feet in waters
Spread my wings in secret
For you to notice me
They say things done in the dark will come to light
You shine and I shrink
Shame that you can’t see
It is me…that pulls you onto the moon
And become one
Shame that you don’t see
You barely notice me
You speak
And I hang onto everything you say
Broken hearted I pray
For you to notice me
Shame that you don’t see
It’s me wrapped inside of beige
With you
The one that call down the rain
And take you in
Standing there Zulu
And I hang onto your every word
And dream
Us in that garden
Shame you can’t tell
It is me you walk freely with
We breathe into each other
And I wrap you in beige
On the moon
Shame you ain’t gotta clue
Wish you would just come and talk to me

luv you

Your voice comes through so clear here. Reading this is as if you were speaking. Not all understand even when the message is spoken clearly, I hope you are heard.

What a treat it is to meet you and your words, Mitzi...You write in a dialect I feel I understand so well with a voice that needs to be heard. Wow am I aching from the pain in this one and realizing just what it is like when that man starts talkin'...oh yeah.

Thanks so much for taking a peek at my poetry too. I look forward to reading more of you.

Wonderfully written lament of love unrequited...know that feeling well...these words do that feeling justice, if any justice may be found in that feeling. May you find love and all good things, M'Lady,

Mitzi,

Sometimes the initial step has to come from us. I like your poem and it is soooo hard wearing ones heart on ones sleeve.

Yeah, Meshell does great work, and so do you, Mitzi. While some men are clueless that we admire them, I doubt seriously you'd be turned down if you made your admiration known to him. Just be subtle, not goofy like me. LOL. And should your words in this poem actually be true to your own life, then I pray that it's not a poet who draws you. Male poets, like the writers of love songs and musicians, are not known for their fidelity but for their ficklenss in love. Naturally they will jump to their own defense and claim this is not so, but remember "The guilty dog hollers loudest." ;-) ~~Nordette
