Let me watch the sunset in the west
Between high distant peaks deep with snow.
Let me see cool twinkling stars above
Near the silver moon that lovers know.
I would watch the numph-like lacey clouds
Swirl across a summer sky of blue.
I would with my eyes caress a rose
Sparkling with the early morning dew.
Show me the ocean waves as they break
Foamy green o’er coral crisp and white.
Then even through blindness is my fate
I’ll dwell no more in eternal night
