A silver tongued devil comes in many forms. The results are the same and the endgame is the same. The total destruction of a beautiful heart for their own amusement.

Poem Artwork

His soft-spoken words

Fell like velvet around her ears

And melted into her heart,

Her longing turned to want,

As her desires burned within.

From her beautiful soul-

That had been a barren wasteland-

Now flowed with a river of hope,

As her dreams seemed within reach

And her destiny close at hand.

Her heart that had been closely guarded,

As she shielded it from pain long passed

Was now an open vessel-

And she handed him the key,

Which he tightly grasped in his hand.

It was after she offered herself

Freely and unconditionally in the name of love,

That she started seeing a change in him,

As the spring of love quickly turned to winter

And the sunshine became cold shivers in the night.

She saw her dreams laid to waste-

As his beautiful words turned into a snake

That crawled into her heart,

And the venomous poison killed the love-

As its silver tongue licked at the remains.

So common for women who have already felt abuse and become codependent upon it.

A snake's tongue is usually used for tasting and sensing its environment rather than wiki because it swallows its prey whole and there's no need for saliva or a licking tongue. But the comparison still holds.

Intense, vivid, poignant, all bound together with an important message and a truth that sometimes assails. One of your better efforts, my friend, not a word out of place.
