What can fill the void in us all

Somewhere out on the sea ,
is a horizon that swallows the moon.
Don’t try to swallow all the ocean ,
take just a sip with a spoon .

Somewhere out in the desert
there is a flower about to bloom .
Don’t try to pick it and take it home
and put it inside your room

Sometimes when you want it all
it leaves you feeling empty inside .
Don’t try to fill the emptiness
with things that you’ve already tried .

The void is there in us all
to make us aware we need to give .
Don’t try to make excuses about
all the things you need to live .

Virtues are the treasures that will fill your life with true peace of mind .
Don’t try to lie or cheat because
if you do virtues you won’t find .

Somewhere out there underneath
the ground is a tiny little seed .
Don’t try to poison the earth
with the contamination of greed .

Somewhere out there in the universe
is a place put to one side .
Don’t try to own it or control it ,
to make you feel satisfied .
