This time of year always depresses me
Maybe its because everything seems to have a price tag
I’m not even sure why that bothers me so much
There was a time I had one too
Back before I figured out that what I was selling (sex)
Was not what they thought they were buying (me)
And what it was actually costing me (self-respect)
Was more than what I was getting (dollars)
Maybe that’s why it bothers me so much
These price tags every where I look
I learned the hard way that what you are buying
Is not always what you are getting
And what you are getting, is not always worth
What it is costing you or anyone else
So look real hard at those bargains
In the stores and in life
Make sure they are made to last, good quality
Something you won’t regret in the next day’s light
And you can learn a valuable lesson for life
When you buy those little Christmas ceramics
It’s easy to stick a price tag on something
It’s a lot harder to get it off the next day
You can scrub and scrape but it sticks still
And so does what you experience in your life
So make good choices, be sure you won’t be ashamed
When the price tag refuses to scrub off the next day
