i actually write alot of rhyming poetry and often find myself starting one way and ending another, i'm just really trying to rediscover expressing myself after a long illness and when i feel i can say something, i try to get it down. no offense meant to those who love to rhyme

i think we each have our own niche...comfort zone with poetry, i stink at prose, but rhyme comes easy to me, even when i joke around with my daughter, i can tell her what to do in rhyme...she thinks is so funny, I read prose, and think...Wow...thats so profound....and i am in awe...but I feel that if I wrote my own thoughts down, in descending lines, it would just look like my thoughts in desending lines...lol....and my thoughts are not all that creative....

but some folks have that touch!!!

good point...and one I can relate to...there are different types of rhyme, but it is not necessary...I do believe that poetry, even free verse must have a rhythm though. Nicely done, Sue

Well it does not need rhyme that is for sure, but it is a bit like dancing, those that cannot keep in step must truly dance alone, nothing wrong in dancing around your own handbag all night.

However, do not whinge when it is the only thing that takes you home.

Personally, I prefer some one who matches my fancy step, I remember some one who could do that very well, wonder what happened to her?
