My 15 year old grandson, Mike wrote this poem and like any proud grandma, i just had to share it with someone, i think he will be a fine poet, don't you
Love… you don’t ask for it,
But there it is.
A warmth in your heart, a chill down your spine
That one, that only,
That special person, just for you
With a flip of her hair
And a smile that brightens life itself
She pulls you in,
never to let go
Wait, there she goes…
living her life the same as always
She leaves you breathless in her wake
Standing in awe of her beauty
Was she the one
Stride by stride she moves away,
Clenching your heart with the strength of God
Never to let it go
Why, why couldn’t you say something
Too late…
For now she’s gone
Will the hole in your chest ever heal
Do you really want it to
She could have been the one,the only one
Where ever did she go…
nowhere, and everywhere all at once
What did you miss…
not a thing, not a moment, not a glance
You burn the image of her face into your head…
Never to let it go
You seal the memory of your love…
Never to let it go.
