Our neighbors never talk, they
Merely wave from fifty feet,
A certain type of wave, meaning
Don’t come closer, we
Have a life, it’s
Not with you, we share
A street, a streetlight,
An electrical current, but our
Deep sorrows can’t be
Shared with you, our
Cars insulate us from germs
And you, our thoughts
Too sacred to be
Shared with you.
A slice of life that is so real. Yes, we do have neighbours like this who do not want anyone to go near them, who just kepr to themselves most of the time. The problem is not with you. It is them, so don't sweat it.
