The uncertainty of Michigan's weather, it changes as fast as the wind blows with its four seasons. It never ceases to amaze me.
My butterfly bush bows to accumulated
weight of April's pure fluffy white snow.
While the pink, red and variegated tulips
close their petals reaching towards
the heavens!
Perennials yellow daffodils fall prey,
to bitter, chilling, killing
Spring Winter's cold!
Sidewalks in Detroit, Lansing, Port Huron, Michigan,
welcomes snowflakes falling like
miniature cumulus clouds
kissing the earth!
Shrubbery boasting of their
new camouflages and temporal beautiful
crowns destined to perish.
All seems quiet except for the muffled
sounds of automobiles.
A crimson cardinal speedily
passes overhead,
sparrows peck the ground for
dinner and sing.
Yet, all life beseeching waiting
for the sun to shine,
bringing its warmth, hope and awesome rays of life to the world!
A very vivid description of winter's landscape in Michigan. I know the terrain well, and left many divots in her well-manicured pastures. I guess I never stopped to smell the roses quite the way you have. Well done!
