Rain falls around us, a mellow ambience
Candles lit, music plays, we dance
Arm in arm, head on shoulder
We take in each other’s sweet odor
Eyes shut, thoughts erased
Locked together in deep embrace
Night envelops two people’s lives
Hearts beat together to survive
Darkness signals the intimacy ahead
Fantasies pull the couple to bed
Touch portends excitement and desire
Fingers explore and titillate the fire
Rhythmic movements define the next hour
For two people quick to taste and devour
Lovemaking simulates a musical score
For two who crave much more
Satisfaction ultimately achieved
Tired muscles, now aching, but relieved
We lie still listening to the rain
Water droplets leave their mark on the pane
Nature’s light enters our sanctuary of love
Confirm God’s intention from heaven above
Hold on, Sweetness, never forget tonight
Cherish the memory and delight
Solitude is elusive at best
The ultimate goal for a world of unrest
Commitment to others pulls us apart
Care for children and parents we impart
Be mindful though that physical touch
Is no substitute for intimacy and trust
We have our own lives, this is true
But I choose to spend precious moments with you
Remember me, love, as you go through your day
Know that I’m with you, this I pray
Never feel alone for I’m always there
Nestled beside you, surrounded by care
Take my essence with you wherever you go
Be affirmed and assured I’ll protect you from foe
Stand up, be thankful, that you can breathe again
Encased by God’s light from darkness and sin
Remember the rain and the flickering light
For I’m always with you during each night
Keith, there is nothing like the feel of the needed touch, the laughter of the one touching, and want to hear it again.
