In loving memory of my brother.

A DAY TO REMEMBER  April 25, 2008

On this day a phone call came my way.
I answered, It was about my brother Wayne.
The voice had spoke and said to come to
the hospital, your brother is dying.
So as tears rolled down my face,
I looked to my husband and said<
I must get ready to go down to see my brother.
I was hoping inside I would make it in time.

I got to the hospital.
My sister in law and all the kids were coming down
from his room.
And then I went up to see how my brother was doing and seen he was going to die this day.

I gave him a kiss as tears just flowed.
We waited all day, It was the hardest thing
I had to do.
As I took his hand and asked the nurse could you please
get him freshioned up. And at the time she  did so.

My daughter and granddaughters came about 6:00 in
the evening.
And the room was filled with all his loving family.
At 9:30 my daughter said Mother it is time for you to go,
we will return tomorrow.
I looked at her and said But he won't be here tomorrow.
So I did go with her, got in the car, pulled off the
parking lot.

We seen some of  the family running back in.
So my daughter went around the hospital and pulled
back into the parking as I hurried and jumped out of the
car, ran up to his room, his door was closed.

As i opened the door I said, Did he go? And they said No,
So Marg his wife sat on one side of the bed, and I on the
other.
I took my brother's hand and rubbed his chest.
I told him Wayne, Do you see the light, the angels are
coming, Mom and Dad will be at the end waiting for
you to come.
Folllow the light and go with the Angels,
We love you and will all miss you very much.
you have suffered enough Just go home,

Love, your sister, Donna

This poem touched my heart. Its really hard to see someone we love dying. Its one of the hardest things we'll ever have to do. I think you did the right thing in telling him to go toward the light. Sometimes they need to hear that so they can move on to Gods kingdom. Thankyou for sharing this with us. Writing helps to ease the pain and opens our hearts ..God Bless!....M ,, WELCOME TO THE DEN!
