THIS IS WHO I AM
By RICHARD “D-CLOWN” SERRANO
I’m open minded and culturally conscience. At night I look at the
Heavens so that I may stay grounded.
I listen to my music for it calms me, there’s something primal about them drum beats, I’m highly aware of our ancient historical feats
I read my books because for the mind they’re fundamental and
I respect their power.
I love and live life as it comes at me hour by hour.
I like to observe animals, their behavior, their language and actions
are pure without malice intent,
it is the one thing, the human mind has yet to invent.
I play my sports because I need to address my testosterones’
aggressive side. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not hostile,
violent nor destructive at all,
But all men have a knack for the art of war.
We do need to control it, or we won’t last,
We’ll be doomed to repeat our ancestral past.
If you don’t believe me, look at your current presidency
And try to convince me it is not testosterone driven.
I hope at the end we’ll all be forgiven
But enough of this politically crap,
Let us get back to me before
I fall into an opinionated trap.
I am a clown and a jester of sort, I hide behind my laughter
It repels the negative thoughts
And keeps my heart safe, it is my stronghold, it is my fort.
I hear the waters, they beckon my return
Peace and tranquility are things that I yearn
My seeds, to them I am immortal incapable of failure, a super-whew!-man
To me, my seeds are the epiphany of my mortality, I am fallible, I am human
This is who I am
I Enjoyed reading about you In Your Poetic Express.
I must say I especially love:
"At night I look at the
Heavens so that I may stay grounded." This & the very begining pulled my interests immediately wanting to read more.
Nice To Meet You!

And try to convince me it is not testosterone driven.
Richard, methinks you give him too much credit...after all, he is the DUH-bya bush! Testosterone, NO. Greed, YES. The Ha-li-burton man, Chaney, is the puppeteer. Darn, didn't mean to get on this subject...
Another great poem, and appreciate the lines
"To me, my seeds are the epiphany of my mortality, I
am fallible, I am human
This is who I am."
After reading your first poem, posted by cuz William, the above part has so much meaning.
Micke
again, such a wonderful and heartfelt poem. I especially loved the way you ended this one:
"I hear the waters, they beckon my return
Peace and tranquility are things that I yearn
My seeds, to them I am immortal incapable of failure, a super-whew!-man
To me, my seeds are the epiphany of my mortality, I am fallible, I am human
This is who I am"
Much peace, love, and light,
