I don't know if this is a form of poetry, but for lack of a suitable category, I present my work to thee, O lover of words, thoughts and fleeting imagery.

If only...So many things, some lesser some greater,

Every day slipping away, daily in written and unwritten words,

So many that I grieve at their loss, that life is so unfair.

If only... I had a little bit of help or time for myself to document and think.

It sounds like I am just feeling sorry for myself, but only a little.

I watch the world go by and complain and die.

Because there is so much pain and suffering,

It grieves me to know that it doesn't have to be that way. If only...

Rockie Coppolella, January 2010

{Dedicated to my friend Tennille who inspired me by caring.}

I think this could easily be the song of middle America. Working a job, we have all the answers, but the Man doesn't want to listen. Great write, Rockie.

Pain and suffering are amazing things. As a person who lives with chronic pain and other health conditions that don't allow me to take anything for it but Tylenol, I can honestly say that I like myself a whole hell of a lot more since I became ill. It changed my perspective, and, if given the chance to go back, crazy as it may sound, I would choose to go through this, because without going through what I did, I would never be the person or writer I am now. Yes, pain and suffering are incredibly complex, terrible things.

I do indeed think that this is poetry, Rockie. I find your verses compelling because they "speak" to my soul. Love and peace to you,

Regis

If "Dying Words" is dedicated to a friend that inspire by caring, WOW! I wonder what title you will give to a poem dedicated to an uncaring one!
Nice to see you back!

Georg
