MY SISTER
I can’t remember in my heart
When you were not there.
It seems to me you were the one
Who showed me that you care.
When others came and went away,
I knew you’d always be,
Beside me staying close at hand
And loving only me.
Sisters come and sisters go
But as we age we see
We have the love deep in our hearts
It’s only you an me.
Our hearts were joined from early on
Within the family tree.
It was the Lord who gave to us
Our blessed family.
We used to play outside and then
I knew you’d always be
As close as ever you were afraid,
You stuck so close to me.
We’ve been through fire and back again
You never wavered as my friend.
When others were not there for me
I knew without a doubt you’d be.
I’ve loved you from the very start
You are my friend, you’re in my heart.
I’ll love you til the day I die
And I pray that all will see
You are the joy that fills my life
You’re everything to me.
