MY BROTHER
I felt the terror in my heart that day
The only thing they did say
He’s been hurt in a robbery attempt
The squad is on it’s way.
I was on my knees and praying hard
I begged the Lord to stay with you
I knew just then
He knew what to do.
It wasn’t until that very day
When I realized the love I have for you.
You’ve been my brother for many years
Always there even through the tears.
My sister knew what she was doing
When I heard her say to you
I’ll be your wife from this day forward
And promptly said I do.
You are the brother I never had
You make me laugh and you’ve made me sad.
But only when you’ve been hurt
Do I realize that you’ve made me glad.
I praise the Lord for His gift of you
And I’m on my knees thanking Him too.
You’re getting better that’s what sis does say
But I’m still praying every day.
Our family is better because of you
We thank the Lord He knew what to do.
We love you Tom
And on this day
We thank the Lord
And beg Him to stay
Close by your side and heal you soon.
For you I give thanks
And I continue to pray.
