A Poem inspired by how difficult it is to merge two lives, cultures, perspectives, ideals together, but true compatibility happens without effort. When this happens, then it is all good and the chance of the relationship's survival is very good!

Happy Heartache

Expectations are high when hearts collide,
anticipating a meaningful future forever.
Knowing the differences they try to abide,
it’s difficult to merge two lives together.

“Nothing is perfect,” is the common adage,
we all bring with us some unpleasant baggage.
It takes time to determine what is real,
and maybe struggle until there is nothing more to feel.

Intentions are true , but old ways can remain,
to leave each other wondering and guessing.
Never the two see things quite the same,
There are peaks and valleys with silence deafening.

Considering a future with a promise of love,
Expecting some help from the one above.
It takes two to make things of this nature work,
lately I’m the one left feeling like a jerk.

Sorry does not always make things better,
affecting some personal change is the only choice.
One thing for sure is that I want us together,
I must let her know now in a gentle voice.

My heart aches to make things right,
Don’t want any lonelier, restless nights.

Always with you would be a wonderful endeavor,
so please keep me, hold me, love me forever.
Believing in us brings me much comfort,
as true compatibility happens without effort.

She adds years to my life and makes me feel young,
Everything we do is nothing short of pure fun.
Must get it right this time for my own sake,
because she is certainly my Happy Heartache.
