Clamor
it is a harbinger of catastrophe
when the roar of strident voices
washes away soft confidence
in its bellowing
the tentative is often
more real and well-considered
and wisdom is humble and willing to be tutored
by a greater aptitude
loud noise overwhelms
and our lazy minds submit
but one who wants truth is never sure
he follows paths less travel-worn
what can be said of a people
which debates its own future with smoke and thunder
while advertisements lull with serpentine reason?
loud noise moves
but only reflection understands
and knows it understands but darkly
and reflections are only pristine and clear
in a still water
