Poem Artwork

It feels cold to the touch
Hauntingly cold
Just as the shadows
Slowly unfold
My tears flow freely
I can't take the pain
What am I doing
I must be insane
It feels cold to the touch
The gun laying there
Just like my heart
But no body cares
The pain cuts thru me
It feels like a knife
No one should bear
Such turmoil and strife!

Are the bullets in
Yes, I can see
They will end the horror
Inside of me!
The heartaches of life
I can't take anymore-
Me and my gun
We sit on the floor
Blackness surrounds me
As a dark cloud
The silence around me
Screams so loud

I have no one to love me
No one to care
Piercing loneliness
Is always there
No one to miss me
As I lay in my grave
Nothing of value
Nothing to save
God , please forgive me
This is a sin
But I cannot fight
My demons within

Here in the darkness
I feel so alone
Raw pain inside me
My will is gone
Hauntingly cold
Like the ice inside me
I lift up my gun
Oh , so slowly
I point to my temple
Tears pour like the rain
I pull the trigger
No more pain

It feels so cold...hauntingly cold....

Linda: My mother shot herself to death when I was just eleven. This is painful for me to read and it's even more painful for me to write right now. My mother was such a sweet woman. She loved Siamese cats. I have a Siamese cat lamp that was hers. She died when she was 46--the same age I am now. You have done a wonderful job with this poem. You have to be incredibly empathetic to be able to write something like this.

...and loved ones are left in the cold...but we don't judge, do we? Many people call suicide cowardly, but to me, it depends. One of my loved ones...he was brave, let's put it that way. Unbearable is unbearable. Whether you have felt these feelings yourself -- and I pray you have not --, or are writing with someone else in mind, you understand. And it h u r t s. But you are doing what you can. Be proud! Phyllis

Oh I do hope this is only a poem about suicide. I felt the painful words also the screams of the silence. The darkness, demons and the raw pain I know all too well.
This was written very clearly. I just hope it is not real!

Linda this is a powerful look into the despair that causes people to do anything to end it, trust it is fiction but is very realistic.

That's only the begining of the pain, and as Trask said, you would be starting over when the objective is to get to the end.

Linda, Sweet Linda, I truly hope this is just one of your fantastic poems, which you pen so well, and not any premeditated dark thoughts, We love you, there is always someone that love you, Tony Martin sang a song in the 50's " For every man there's a woman, and for every woman, there's a man"

Love & Peace ....William

You have explained suicide very well
Some just can't deal with life
Everyone has thought about suicide, but to
dwell on it leeds to an end.

Hi Linda:

I think we all have to think of some values of our lives. Everyone was born for a reason. God loves you, and many of your friends love you.

The irony:

We also have to put values on others, and perhaps care for others. In this way, we don't have to wait for others to put values in us, for we know we are valuable to ourselves and as well as everyone else.

Back to your poem:

It is sooooo well-done! The feeling of self-pity and self-destruction is all there. You have described the state of mind of someone who might be in this situation very well. The readers can feel with you, pity the author. You have managed this write very well. Hope this was just fictional. Wonderful work!

Suicide Means:

You Will Have To Come Back & Do It ALL Over Again,i.e. Maybe KILL YOURSELF a MILLION TIMES
Simply Because __You Do Not Die!

But, (God ) Guarantees You will Feel The PAIN!
