I felt the walls around me falling down like Jericho
Even those beside me couldn't ease my troubled soul.
Looking back I can see me trod, to please those in my life
But now it's time to take a stand and make that wrong a right.
I've worked so hard to find my way, not knowing where to look
I've wandered down the lonely paths in search of worldly goods
At eighteen, Lord, just a child, I felt so all alone
Somewhere in, between and now, it's me that I forsook.
Oh, this pain inside my soul, is slowly killing me
Cause I forgot to put myself, on my own endangered list.
It took so long to make them know, this heart inside my soul
Was reaching out to make them say, “You’re worth eighteen carat gold.”
Please help me, Lord, to find my way, give me strength to carry on
I made a vow, a promise true , that I will follow you.
The list I made is now complete, my name is shining bright
It's at the top, I'm taking care of the one that I forgot.
Now, I've put myself upon the list to prove my worth to me
No more looking back to see the shadows dogging me.
No more worries, no more tears, I know that I can be
The greatest person in my life--my friend--myself--it's me
well done!
(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :D
