I watched the destruction from the tidal waves that have hit many countries and I formed a mental image of God harvesting souls. During such a harvest prayers are all we have and your prayer gives strength and hope.

You are so right Anna it is a human disastor not just a Japanese one, we all need to offer our hearts and whatever else we can do as humans and North Americans to the people of Japan.

Unbearably sad, Anna. Words cannot say enough to measure the grief that has hit Japan. Your words, though, certainly do sum it up. Prayers are nice, but if prayers are to help, why, then, did this ongoing, continuing horror happen?

"Nowhere near enough warning,

It shouldn�t have been that way!"

It happened too fast, Anna, I don't think they had time to evacuate all those tens of thousands of people. I personally think Japan is doing a masterful job, better I feel than we would do if it had happened here. There is no looting, which would certainty be happening here. There have been no price gouging for groceries and goods, in fact some store owners have actually given people what they needed as long as they had it in the store. But you are so right when you say that thousands upon thousands will have their "future for many eternally changed."

Beautiful poem.
