I find myself contemplating life more and more as time slips by....

Poem Artwork

In the eyes of the young
A lifetime is perpetual fantasy,
Where the horizon is endless,
Tomorrows are divine rights,
And the hourglass is always full!
When middle age approaches
Life becomes a little uncertain,
Limits appear out of nowhere!
Yesterdays are too numerous to count!
And for the first time, the clock is ticking!
Finally, the golden years settle in,
And life becomes memories
Most of them sketchy and vague!
Time slips by ever faster now,
And the door to eternity is ajar!

Yes, Annabel, there comes a time when our thoughts tend to dwell
on the past. Sweet are the memories. And today is the time to salt away tomorrow's memories. -gene.

Yes age slows down a lot of things and one of them is our ability to sit back and ponder the past, the present, the future and beyond the future. We learn to accept who we are, what we have done, what we can do. We stop hating and start loving more and our children and grandchildren reward us with thinking we are wise...lol, even if we aren't.

Anna, yes...you sum it all up here...and so it is..the part about 'Golden' eludes me... so far the cup is pretty tinny. But, as long as the coffee is strong...

I digress. You touch a chord with me.

I will be 74 at the end of this month. I have lived a heartbrake life but survived by finding the LORD. But as I think back I did sire two wonderful beings, my Son, and my Daughter. Reflect back Annabel, you will find how much you gave our world. Great Write!!
GOD BLESS YOU

When young there seems to be a million days until the time of adulthood approaches with the handing of car keys. From that time on the days move faster and faster until the days, weeks, months and years become a speeding blur. How true your words, Anna, my friend.

Time slips by ever faster now

It certainly seems to, so we have to make the most of every single day.
