I may never get back to the Yukon
To her mountains, tall trees and clear streams
Maybe too many years and a new way of life
Have all sidetracked this wanderer's dreams
I may never get back to the Yukon
'Though I'm longing to-God only knows
After all of these years her memory's still strong
And the spell of her magic still grows
Yes the spell of her seems like a lover
Whom once visited holds you for life
And I'll ever be drawn like the sap to the Spring
Yes this yearning's as sharp as a knife
Oh I know that the spell of the Yukon
Is as real as the Poet portrayed
Yes I promised myself that I'd one day return
And this yearning just simply won't fade
I may never get back to the Yukon
To deep valleys and mountains so high
I may never get back to the Yukon
But as long as Im' living , I'll try.
