1991 poem.

Poem Artwork

There is a war zone in my chest,

chaos underneath my breast,

it is my heart...it's blown apart,

grenade torn bits you'll see,

a minefield of destruction,

those years of you and me.

You are my  Hiroshima,

you are my Waterloo,

you pulled the pin,

and threw it in,

exploding all I knew.

Strikes hard and strikes deep. Proof once again that great
work comes in small packages. Out of pain, sad to say.

Excellent write.
Unbelievable what others can do to us. But hopefully they won't break us.

Dear Kay,

Powerfully packed poetry. Not a nice situation to find yourself in, it's sad when in life, such saddness is so prevalent.

Warm hugs

Oooh! This is razor sharp and cuts like shards of shattered glass - fallout from the explosion you describe here, Kay! Very surgical and compact - and all the more powerful for your objective, detached expression. This anaesthetises and blows apart at the same time. Thank you for this "old war-wound". Worth "baring" again!! Good to meet you! Kate xx

Oh my gosh, Kay! I was not expecting this at all...the title offered me no clue as to what awaited me when i began reading...which was a good thing...because it completely blew me away when i read it. Short and to the point. Hard-hitting piece of writing, Kay!
