May I touch you?(Yes...YOU!)

I don't want to touch you like ...a lover,

please don't think that's

what I want

to do,

I don't want to take

and I don't want to make

waves across the lake...of You.

I just want to touch you like... a mother,

gently

just as MOTHER NATURE

 touches on a tree.

I just want to feel your green,

smell your leaves,

feel your lean

and bend the way your boughs do...

(upon the breeze that lingers through.)


I have seen your image there,

I n n o c e n t l y,

as I stare,

(poetry for me,)

poetry...

p o e t r y.

I don't want to touch you

like...an ogre,

I don't want to move you from

the 'reaches' you engage,

I don't want to ripple even one ring on your pond,

or anywhere beyond,

not even from the creases ...of life's page.

But...I have fallen so in awe

of the words that you outpour,

and so

I long to touch you

(as  dew on roses do )

gently using one hand's trace,

oh so softly with all grace

tenderly,

just once,

upon ...

your face.

What a fantastic poem Kay, I truly loved this piece, you know once in a while I think all poets come across a poem that someone else has written and thinks Wow I wish that I had written that, well I can tell you that this is such a poem for me, brilliantly written, absolutly brilliant.

I have fallen in love with this poem~smile!
Magnificently beautiful Kay...every stanza and all the emotion eluding. Happy to have found this work today.

For me this poem gives way to all emotions there could be.
The subliminal gentleness rings soundly throughout this jewel.
Wow, thank you for the read. Additionally,it also reminded me of being in my garden. I don't know why.
