To all the darling poets at Authorsden,

I would like to leave you this poem (a repost)

as my last poem for this year on Authorsden.

I have to  give up my computer until next year

(no later than Febuary I hope) as over next few

months the house I live in is going to be lifted

to put granny flat underneath for my mum,

until that's finished I will be living elsewhere,

therefore the computer will be off, packed away

and brought out when renovations are finished.

I love you all and I will miss you very much.

To my athiest friends,Season's greetings!

To my Jewish friends,Happy   Hanukkah,

To my Christian friends,Merry Christmas

and to you all...have a Happy New Year!

Here is my last poem  until next year.

My poem: esus.

Happy birthday little lord,
best wishes come from me,
you say that God’s 'OUR father,'
so that makes US ...'F A M I L Y,'
I love that it's your birthday,
in spite of ALL this FUSS,
the merchants still exploit you ,
and the cost is WAY too much.
I think you’d say ‘it’s awful,’
( the greed, and rush, and such.)
So many times your birth seems hid…,
the meaning of it lost amid…,
gluttons, banquets, noise and greed,
absence of...YOUR fathers’ seed,
of swaddling cloth,
and of Marys need .
Absence of Josephs fear
( far from home with birth so near .)
Absence of a lonely night...
an inn keepers heart doing right.

Champagne and glitter swamp YOUR day
to almost blot sweet babe away.

Happy birthday little Lord,
the star STILL shines on you ,
Just like that night
YOUR day burns bright,
we celebrate...it’s true ,

But somehow, I must wonder,
what gift... YOU ...might request?
I sort of feel
you would appeal
for the world to give...‘ITS BEST.’
I believe you’d say ‘spend your cash…
not upon YOUR own,
but spend it on the poor and weak,
and those without a home.
I sort of feel that you’d appeal
(instead of gifts now here,)
that we might feed the starving poor...
help LOVE and PEACE appear.

Happy birthday little Jesus,
( in YOUR swaddling cloth and straw,)
may you have the gifts you TRULY crave,
today…and ever more.
****************
p.s.

Below is the face that haunts me,it is such  pictures

as this one (seen constantly on News) that inspires

most of  my poetry,at the end of the year, amidst

the celebrations,I have need to share this childs face

with all but mostly I need to look upon it myself  and humbly realise what a lucky and blessed life I  have been given.

This is not good-bye, it's more like see you later. You'll still be missed though. I know you will love using the pen and pad and have lots of work for us to enjoy when you come back.

A toast to you for the New Year,
Until then...

Kay, an excellent poem that shall comfort us while you’re away from your P.C. my friend. Just remember Kay, “Renovations often cost twice as much as the original bid!” So make sure you watch the General Contractor on this project very closely and keep the purse strings tightly closed! Check the status of the flow chart and budget everyday! Have a great “Holiday Season!” See you soon. Take care and be well.

AD may grow or shrink, Kay, but you will always find a place with us, mainly because you are in our hearts, where there is always room for a friend. (Am I supposed to see a 'face' you mentioned here? I don't see one). Thanks. You'll be missed!

love, katy xox.

What everyone else said below, Kay, you will be sorely missed, too bad they can't just build this "granny flat" or as we call it here "mother-in-law suite" or not so "sweet" depending on your outlook, outside of your home, rather than razing the whole thing, wow, what a job...Hope all goes well and have a good holiday season down under...Peace thru Friendship, Ed & Rufuz

In its place I got a spot
