Souls grenade...betrayal...blew,
splintered shrapnel slivers through,
irresponsibly you threw
and gangrene love...turned blue.
Shrapnel every where I turn,
'Get a medic.
wrap the burn,
stop the blood from squirting out,
tell the patient not to shout!'
Sorry...
but, I think I've died,
couldn't take it in my stride,
untrue love's a dangerous ride,
hurts too much to know you've lied
torn to threads alone I've cried...
never wanting to..
Then before loves last breath came...
it whispered you were not to blame
grenades for him are just a game,
his little streak... of cruel.
Didn't mean 'us' to explode
just a slip up on loves road,
Was not careful when he throwed
the splintered shrapnel through.
Only one thing left to do ,
cut away the gangrene blue ,
an operation many rue,
to amputate... the me... from you.
Love the analogy here Kay.... How have you been? I have missed your poetry and missed you. It's been ages.
Congrats on your grand-daughter!! I am sure she has added so much to your life...
