It would be good if in this experiment of life,

I was one of the successful Rats,

one who could run for hours on that rotating wheel,

going faster,faster,faster,

until they finally smiled at my results.

If only I could be that Rat who passed 'the test,'

the one who was: 'the best,'

But...

in this experiment,

in this Lab of life,

I am just one of the many who stumble off the wheel,

destined to be disected and rejected.

If only they had asked me ,I would have said:

'All I came for was your crumbs.'

But...

they did not ask ,

and foolishly, I did not tell.

Oh,what the hell...

'cheese please?"

You are far from the rat on the wheel begging for crumbs. But sometimes, we feel we are unimportant parts of the rat race.

What a fresh new way to say an old thing so many, including myself, have felt! You crafted it in an entertaining, even smile provoking way ( I loved how Prose, Re-Life ends.)
It is so authentic, and genuine, that I just LOVE it!

Sorry my comments are so verbose, but
I am feeling so glad I found you and your poetry.

You have described the rat race so well that we all tend to trod. And with so few who make any kind of difference. So what the hell, might as well have our cheese and eat it while we can. Right?

Keep the cheese, just let me out of the maze. And that's why life is called a rat race. Enjoyed this.

Related to this. "dissected, rejected" those unwanted experiences inclusive to all of socialized humanity. Ugh! Funny thing about troubles and trials; only when we have overcome them will we understand why they were there. True for me anyway. Enjoyed your thoughts. Peace to you... rlc
