I made some mistakes
that I never meant to make,
I took detours,
that I never meant to take.
I hurt the ones I love the most...
I made myself almost a ghost.
I did some things
that I never planned to do,
(all of this is true ,)
but... NEVER,NO NOT EVER,
did I STOP loving YOU.
You may wonder how this can be?
Well...
it was NEVER you I stopped loving,
but, it WAS me.
(And that was MY worst mistake,
one I hope you'll NEVER make.)
We all make mistakes in life, and take wrong detours, the important thing is before our life is done that we arrive in the right place at the right time and forgive ourselves in the process. Loved your poetry this morning dear poetess, Keep up the good writes,

Will surely make mistakes. And, if we don't correct them quickly, may cause regrets. However when you changed the direction of your poem to a loved one, it became very personal and really a poem only for the loved one and not for the rest of us.
This is so good and carries such a great message to all. People have to love themselves before anyone could love them. It is very hard to help (almost impossible) a person who is self-destructive.
This book is a collection of short stories that depict events in Author's life while she lived in Romania, then in Greece, and last in America. It's a beautiful and very sincere account of a young woman's life and comming to age.
