I remember you today uncle dear,
as teardrops fall upon the floor,
your presence not tangible as once-before,
but still I can picture you smiling somewhere,
and now my sorrow here I share.
Resigned that you are gone and free,
yet leaving kin your memory to love evermore.
All of my aunts and uncles were precious to me and I visited them often in their old age. They are all gone now.
