We're the shabby bits of calico

that you try to hide

you never bring us out when guests drop by

you push us in the shadows

where no body can see

two shabby bits of calico,beloved,

so shabbily.

I felt your tears upon us once or twice

and wiped them off because

they felt like ice

once,I felt your touch of  love,

(or is this notion an emotion

I'm in error of ? ).

You save your silks and satins for the sun

but bring US out

just about when the light is done.

SORRY but  THIS can't go on.

Calico likes the sunshine too

calico in shadows taints into

a  shabby hue. ( a heartbreak blue ).

Calico is full of woe

that you feel so shamed,

calico in fact feels...

 'bloody well' enflamed.

We're just the calico you never show outside,

YOUR DAUGHTER, and,her mother,

THE  CALICO  ....YOU... hide!

P.S

You think that we  are Calico
but I just touched her face,
and I realize,
blind are your eyes,
for not knowing...

SHE'S

..........LACE!

Kay:

Reading this write makes me feel so emotional. I can relate to this so well. I know the pain so well. Too well indeed!...even though I don't talk about it, but it's there, staring me right in my face.

((((( Love and hugs to you )))))

"Shabby love.(reposted due to mistake in last submission)" is a true self expression voice by the sounds of reason.

Keep writing, Poet, and let the wonders be released through Your Voice.

This book has been eight years in the making. It is mostly a jumble of thoughts written down in old spiral notebooks and hidden in the bottom drawer underneath various manuals for software packages and hardware long since turned obsolete.
