Genealogy and what it means to me -- where does it lead
Remembering
I often wonder as I search for my ancestors
Am I awakening a slumbering soul?
Gone so many years -- is anyone alive who remembers their face?
Some believe your soul's eternity is limited by how long you are remembered here on earth
If that is so, what do these souls think as they awaken from their slumber
I find them -- one by one -- slowly making that connection to myself -- wondering about their lives
When I find an uncle -- and then perhaps his first wife - unknown to me -- names of children complete the family
Does my remembering allow them to remember each other -- is this family joined again?
Why are any of us called to search and search -- reaching as far back in time as we can imagine
Now I can't help but ask -- who will remember me? Will I be forgotten?
No.....Never.....The God who created me -- the God who knew me before I was born
God remembers me ... God knows all of us forever ...
All of us live forever in the Mind and Heart and Spirit of the God who created us.
