There before a fountain,
caught by the twilight,
watching all the colors bleed
from a failing sky,
There's a scent of lavender
winding all around me.
Time stands still and I can see
forever in your eyes.
Wild--as the roses
growing in my garden--
Wild--as the windsong
stirring the leaves--
she leaves me breathless--
Eventide settles in,
the night is under way.
Pale stars appear, one by one,
lost souls on display.
We kiss in the silence
and share a single breath.
I've waited my whole life for
this final taste of Death.
Wild--as the roses
growing in my garden--
Wild--as the windsong
stirring the leaves--
she leaves me dead--

Found this piece to have much ambiance, although I didn't "get" the undertones, hence, again, the 9 and a half. Again, this author weaves spells with words....
Loved:
watching all the colors bleed
from a failing sky,
There's a scent of lavender
winding all around me.
lost souls on display.
d share a single breath.
Found this unsettling:
I've waited my whole life for
this final taste of Death.
Lee,
This is wonderful!!! I agree with everyone!
I adore this...
"There before a fountain,

watching all the colors bleed
from a failing sky,
There's a scent of lavender
winding all around me.
Time stands still and I can see
forever in your eyes."
AND
"Pale stars appear, one by one,
lost souls on display.
We kiss in the silence
and share a single breath.
I've waited my whole life for
this final taste of Death."
That is Breathtaking! The whole poem is
very entrancing, Excellent Write!
Hugs,
Maria

Lee, this is really good. I didn't expect the ending and was taken off guard. Anytime you can do that---it's well done.
