THE BALLAD OF IDJIT MAN
by
His Suffering Roommate
Idjit Man, Oh, Idjit Man
You make a mess
as fast as you can.
Dirty dishes, fork and cup,
never bother to clean it up.
Idjit Man, Oh, Idjit Man.
Idjit Man, Oh, Idjit Man
You steal my food
and head for the can.
The bowl's thick with your crap
as you wander off for a nap.
Idjit Man, Oh, Idjit Man.
Idjit Man, Oh, Idjit Man
leaving clutter everywhere
you haven't got the heart to care.
When it comes to work, you always pass
With magic fairies to wipe your ass.
Idjit Man, Oh, Idjit Man.
Idjit Man, Oh, Idjit Man
you're broke as hell,
holding out your hand
I'd laugh if it weren't so sad.
the way you always say "My bad".
Idjit Man, Oh, Idjit Man.
Idjit Man, Oh, Idjit Man
You inspire murder
as fast as you can.
Please don't let out a peep
as you're strangled in your sleep.
Idjit Man, Oh, Idjit Man.

Over the years of my schooling and even after, I had many roommates. Some that I let in, and some that let me in. For the most part, my roommates were fabulous. They were much cleaner than I and looked out for me in many ways. But your poem did remind me of a rich kid that filled our studio apartment with his clutter and burned matchsticks to the point where I found him lying on my bed, the only clean place in the entire apartment. I dissolved our partnership immediately by moving out and sharing a room with the son of a family in a two-bedroom apartment. She made great dinners every evening before she got too drunk to stand.
