A Conversation With God

I met my God for lunch today.
He said, "Your dreams are at hand.
Why have you not embraced them,
I have come here to understand???"

I said, "This image in my Mind's-eye
is beheld near and dear;
yet within crevasses of my heart
'tis not so crystal-clear.

For when I emboldened take the plunge
and REALIZE my dreams,
family-ar yarns shall come un-spun--
my heritage lost to ancient streams
of staunch and never-ending doubts
out of which am I born and bred. . .
Alas, I am as yet unfit
to hear such farewells be said.

Well, God sat back and had a chuckle
and then long He smiled at me--
"Oh," He said, "my beloved child,
how ever shall you come to see
the UNRAVELING is intrinsic
to the Plan--
it is all of Grand Design;
when All origin-ates in Me,
no less can ever be thyne.
So, the comfort zone comes
and the comfort zone goes;
there are twists in every turn;
yet, if in Me you will trust
and jump. . .
Pearls of wisdom shall you learn,
that once a Love has come to Be
'tis beheld for all Eternity
within the Palace Box of Secrets,
and the Dream is the Golden Key.

Dear Vicky,
While doing some net surfing, I came across the title of this poem with a degree of pleasant surprise. Reason is, that about a week ago I posted a poem titled "A Converation with God Almighty>" I must say though, that the style, tone and point-of-view of your poem is very different from mine. Should you find time to read it I would very much appreciate your reaction and comments.

As for your poem, I thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated the mixture of formality and informality and the way your words were able to carry me through to the resolution of the piece.

Thanks for posting it. "Twas a joy to savour the richness of the imagery and the way it gave a majestic aura to the tone and much food for thought to the reader.
Nice work, Vicky!

I really enjoyed the depth of meaning to this one. The truth in it makes it come alive. Also, the rhyme is done well.
