On grasping Beslan

I met my God mid-stream today
imploring, "Please help me if you can!"
It is the tragedy at Beslan
I am lost to comprehend.
You know, scores of little children died--most right with their mothers. . .terrified.
How can one make sense of this?
It is insideous to the Mind;
and of the Heart there is just no word
adequate to find.
What are we supposed to do?
Not to mention the challenge
in Trusting you!
At this, God softly raised a hand
that befell a feathered hush.
I'd never felt such eerie calm,
nor heat of vulnerable blush.
Instrinct bade I hold my breath;
I dared not utter another sound--
I felt the roots of my existence stir
caused trembling profound.
And then his sight regarded me
with tender, gleaming eyes--
"You know it is not just so
pre-determined exactly when and how
one dies. Sincerely seeking on this quest requires you delve Inside.
For if ever the Earthly day shall dawn when your own hands n'er usher Death, you must build Trust in each other, as close as your very breath.
