In heart-felt response to the worldwide scientific findings that at current rate, Global Warming will wipe out the Polar Bear in this Century.

Politicians cannot save the Polar Bear;
beyond doubt, it is up to us.
To wake up now and change our ways
drastically
is an unequivokable must.

If these Great White should die off
without a fight, what of Arctic men?
Do you think they will fade placidly
into such a diplorable end???

We have not changed as yet,
because we are spoiled--
thinking only of ourselves;
Ironically, "ourselves"
we had surely best consider
pondering future use of oil wells.

For the Great White Bear but tips
the berg--truly a virgin sacrafice.
And when they are all gone,
we will be next. . .
Nature peeling away slice for slice--peeling layers of toxin and trash
we have banally piled up;
so far adrift from Nature's way,
NOW in Truth Her trash is "us."

So, what is absolutions call?
What is it we must do
in order to secure any Future hope
for generations sprung from me and you?

I say the Amish shine a light
on how it can be done.
We do not need multiple cars,
when they need not even one.

We can ride-share here and there
and find ways not to drive at all;
if it feels inconvenient
remember the Arctic's drastic fall.
And there is, doubtless, more that we can do to simplify our lives.
So much has begun to go far too fast
most of us now realize.
So let us respond sincerely to this
pressure to slow the pace;
let us sacrafice the hype and speed
to spare the Earth. . .
and save the Human Race.
