People are to Earth
as fireflies are to children--
Fireflies gone; Earth goes on.

I believe it is grandios huberous to presume that what we do for the environment, we do for the Earth primarily. She was spinning through the universe living and breathing long before Man came to be; she will be so long after. What we do for our environment, we do for ourselves--wisely not from pride but from urgent necessity. It is our own spicies that will pay the dearest price if we choose not to act with consistent discretionary care. The Earth, her insects, her fawna and all her other creaturers will make there way through the eons with, or without us. Prayerfully,
