We come from a place of silent power
And quiet conspiracies
Derived from the womb of a queen
Kinda like Ochun
We squirmed through the canals
Deliberately escaping the bonds
The ties that would keep us stagnate
Knowing that our predatory distance would be our plight to strength
You were born with a sword and a shield in your hand
A warrior prince
And from inception I was determined to guard your cause
To give your journey light
And to not question the reasons of your fight
I shield you like the tribes shield their king
Like a father would shield his family
Like a mother would shield her young
And like a beast would shield his kill
You are the living breathing walking talking preaching manifestation
of everything that I believe in
every reason that I have fought
That I have cried
That I have stood alone in my plight
You give me validation for my stance
I have never worried about where you would end up
Or the derivatives of your pain
My spirit has traveled with you in your dreams
And has tarried with you in the dark cold of the night
Alone in the bush
With the ancestors
In the place of elevation
Of thought
Of reason
Of life
I have stood with you on the front line
And even though my personal plight differs from yours
I protect your cause because I have transferred pieces
Of me to you
Because it is only in your resplendence that you can bring to fruition some of the prophecies
It is only through the stomp of your foot on solid ground that makes them scurry and look for a place of safety and redemption
You are freed from the repercussions of perceptions
And I am not intimidated by the manifestations of freedom
I send exerts of my strength to you in days of weakness
Even though your weakness patents in ways far beyond comprehension of the down trodden
You are the first manifestation of my giftings boy child
And every day that you live
Your strength
Your jubilance and persistence brings forth a new understanding of Jah
And of how he intend us to be
Keeping your head upward while carrying us on your shoulder
Motivation always seems like affirmations of oppression
To those who don’t understand that our progression begins with redirection
Boy child I call you Jah’s child
My warrior
Our nation’s king
Be always safe,
Karen
